Leaving & Changing Jobs

Jobs on Slayville II are meant to be long-term progression systems.

Because of that, leaving or changing a Job comes with a penalty.

Before switching professions, make sure you understand how the system works and whether the change is worth the loss of progress.

The 30% Job XP Penalty

When you leave or change a Job, you lose 30% of your accumulated Job XP for that Job.

This penalty is intended to encourage players to choose Jobs carefully and remain committed to them rather than constantly switching between professions.

The more progress you have made, the more important it becomes to think before leaving.

Why Is There a Penalty?

Without a penalty, players could simply switch Jobs whenever a different activity became more profitable.

The 30% Job XP loss helps keep progression meaningful and rewards players who stay committed to a profession.

It also makes your Job choice an actual progression decision instead of something that changes from hour to hour.

When Should You Consider Changing Jobs?

Changing Jobs may make sense if:

  • Your playstyle has changed
  • You no longer perform the activities tied to your current Job
  • You want to focus on a different part of the server
  • Another Job better matches your long-term goals
  • You chose a Job early and later discovered you prefer something else

Switching is allowed, but it should be done thoughtfully.

Think Before You Leave

Before leaving a Job, consider:

  • Your current Job level
  • How much Job XP you have earned
  • How long it took to reach your current progress
  • Whether the new Job better fits your playstyle
  • Whether you plan to stay with the new Job long-term

If you are close to a milestone or have invested a large amount of time into a Job, it may be worth staying a little longer before switching.

New Players

If you are new to Slayville II and unsure which Job to choose, do not feel pressured to decide immediately.

Spend some time exploring the server first.

Try activities such as:

  • Mining
  • Farming
  • Fishing
  • Building
  • Combat
  • Resource gathering

Once you know what you enjoy most, choose a Job that rewards those activities.

Avoid Frequent Switching

Repeatedly changing Jobs can significantly slow your progression.

Every time you leave, the XP penalty reduces the progress you have already earned.

Frequent switching can make it much harder to reach higher Job levels.

For long-term progression, it is usually better to choose a Job you enjoy and stick with it.

Jobs and Your Playstyle

The best Job is not always the one with the highest possible income.

A Job that matches what you already enjoy doing will usually be more rewarding over time.

For example:

  • If you mine often, choose a mining-related Job.
  • If you enjoy custom fishing, consider the Fisherman Job.
  • If you spend most of your time farming, choose a farming-related Job.
  • If you prefer combat, choose a Job that rewards hunting mobs.

Consistency usually matters more than chasing short-term income.

Changing Jobs Is Still an Option

The penalty does not mean you are permanently locked into your first choice.

Players are free to change Jobs whenever their goals or interests change.

The important thing is to understand the cost before doing so.

Final Reminder

Leaving or changing a Job results in a 30% loss of Job XP.

Choose carefully, avoid switching unnecessarily, and pick a Job that matches how you enjoy playing Slayville II.
