Fishing Tournaments are a major part of the custom fishing experience on Slayville II.
Tournaments take place every hour, giving players regular chances to compete, catch custom fish, and earn bonus money.
Custom Slayville II fish are only available while a Fishing Tournament is active, so tournaments are also the main time to work on your custom fish collection.
How Tournaments Work
When a Fishing Tournament begins, the server announces the event and the current tournament type.
Players can then begin fishing and compete toward the active objective.
During the tournament, your catches may count toward the competition depending on the event type.
At the end of the tournament, the best-performing players may receive bonus money or other rewards.
Tournament Types
Slayville II currently features several different Fishing Tournament types.
Longest Fish
The goal is to catch the longest fish during the tournament.
Only your best qualifying catch matters, so one very large fish can move you to the top of the leaderboard.
Most Caught
The goal is to catch the highest number of fish during the tournament.
This rewards consistency and active fishing throughout the entire event.
Most Crabs Caught
The goal is to catch the most crabs during the tournament.
This tournament works differently from normal fish-count events because the objective is focused specifically on crab catches.
Largest Fish
The goal is to catch the largest fish during the tournament.
Size matters more than quantity, so players are looking for one exceptional catch rather than simply catching as many fish as possible.
Bonus Money
Fishing Tournaments provide bonus money in addition to the normal benefits of fishing.
This makes tournaments useful even if you are not focused on collecting custom fish.
During a tournament, you may be earning:
- Tournament bonus money
- Fisherman Job income
- Fisherman Job XP
- mcMMO Fishing XP
- Custom fish
- Rare catches
- Collectibles
One fishing session can therefore contribute to several progression systems at once.
Custom Fish During Tournaments
Custom Slayville II fish can only be caught while a Fishing Tournament is active.
Outside of tournaments, you can still fish normally and progress systems such as the Fisherman Job and mcMMO Fishing, but custom fish will not appear.
If you want to build your custom fish collection, tournaments are the time to fish.
Competing Effectively
Different tournament types favor different strategies.
For example:
- Longest Fish rewards one exceptional catch
- Most Caught rewards speed and consistency
- Most Crabs Caught rewards targeted crab catches
- Largest Fish rewards size over quantity
Always pay attention to the tournament type before you start so you know what counts toward the current competition.
Join Every Hour
Because tournaments occur every hour, you do not have to wait long for another chance to compete.
If you miss one tournament, another will be coming soon.
Regular participation gives you more chances to:
- Earn bonus money
- Catch custom fish
- Find rare species
- Improve your leaderboard results
- Progress your Fisherman Job
- Increase your mcMMO Fishing skill
Watch the Announcements
Tournament start and end messages are announced by the server.
When a tournament begins, check the event type and start fishing as soon as you are ready.
At the end of the tournament, results are announced and rewards are distributed based on performance.
Tournament Strategy
A few simple habits can help:
- Be ready near water before the tournament begins
- Make sure your fishing rod is in good condition
- Check the tournament type immediately
- Stay active for the full event when possible
- Keep an eye on your catches
- Participate regularly to improve your chances of rare custom fish
Fishing for Competition or Collection
Some players may join tournaments mainly to win.
Others may participate because tournaments are the only time custom fish can be caught.
Both approaches are valid.
Whether you are chasing first place, trying to fill your collection, or simply earning extra money, Fishing Tournaments are one of the most active and rewarding parts of the Slayville II fishing system.
