With more than 160 active custom enchantments available on Slayville II, deciding what to put on your gear can be just as important as finding the books themselves.
There is no single perfect setup. The best enchantments depend on what you want the item to do.
This guide provides example build ideas and tips to help you plan your equipment before using valuable books.
Remember: Items begin with 5 custom enchantment slots and can be increased to a maximum of 9 slots using Slot Increasers from the Server Shop.
Build Before You Apply
Because custom enchantment books have a 100% success rate, the biggest risk is not failure — it is filling your limited slots with enchantments you later decide you do not want.
Before applying a book:
- Decide what the item will primarily be used for.
- Check the enchantment’s maximum level.
- Consider upgrading the book through the Alchemist first.
- Leave room for enchantments you may want later.
- Check for conflicting enchantments.
- Remember that Black Scrolls remove a random custom enchantment.
Planning first can save a lot of rebuilding later.
PvE Sword Build
A PvE sword is designed primarily for fighting hostile mobs, exploring dangerous areas, and general survival combat.
Good enchantments to consider include:
Beastslayer
Increases damage dealt to hostile mobs.
Lifesteal
Provides a chance to steal health while attacking.
Thunderlord
Can strike monsters with lightning after consecutive hits.
Inquisitive
Provides a chance for increased experience drops from mobs.
Permafrost
Can slow enemies and cause bleeding.
Ambit
Damages multiple mobs within an area around your target.
Kill Aura
Provides a chance to kill multiple nearby monsters.
Netherling
Useful for a dedicated Nether sword by increasing damage against mobs while in the Nether.
Endmaster
Useful for a dedicated End sword by increasing damage against mobs while in the End.
A general PvE sword might focus on:
Beastslayer + Lifesteal + Thunderlord + Inquisitive + Permafrost
Then additional slots could be added as the weapon is upgraded.
Mob-Specific Weapons
Some enchantments are designed for specific enemies.
These can be useful if you create specialized weapons.
Ender Slayer
Increases damage against Endermen and the Ender Dragon.
Nether Slayer
Increases damage against Nether mobs.
Death Punch
Increases damage against Zombies.
Bone Crusher
Increases damage against Skeletons.
Immolate
Increases damage against Spiders.
You may decide to keep specialized weapons for certain activities rather than trying to put every mob-related enchantment on one sword.
Survival / Healing Sword
Players who prefer survivability can build around recovering health and keeping themselves in a fight.
Enchantments to consider include:
Lifesteal
Chance to steal health while attacking.
Vampire
Chance to heal shortly after striking an enemy.
Rebound
Restores some health after kills.
Exalted
Chance to remove harmful potion effects.
Distance
Can push enemies away while providing Regeneration.
This type of weapon sacrifices some pure damage potential for greater survivability.
Axe Build
Axes have several powerful custom enchantments of their own.
Useful choices include:
Bleed
Causes opponents to bleed.
Cleave
Damages multiple nearby players.
Shatter
Damages enemy armor durability.
Infernal
Creates a fire-based attack effect.
Reaper
Can inflict Wither and Blindness.
Barbarian
Provides additional Axe damage.
Timber
Useful on a working Axe for quickly cutting down trees.
Because Axes can serve as both weapons and tools, you may want separate combat and woodcutting Axes.
Mining Pickaxe Build
Custom enchantments can completely change how mining works.
Popular mining-focused enchantments include:
Vein Miner
Mines connected ore veins.
Trench
Chance to break blocks in a 3×3 area.
Tunnel
Digs tunnels or staircases in the direction you are facing.
Smelting
Chance to automatically smelt mined blocks.
Experience
Chance to gain additional experience from ores.
Replenish
Chance to restore food while mining.
Telepathy
Places broken block drops directly into your inventory.
Reforged
Helps protect tool durability.
A strong general-purpose mining pickaxe could be built around:
Vein Miner + Telepathy + Experience + Reforged + Replenish
Players who prefer large-scale excavation may instead focus on Trench or Tunnel.
Be Careful With Mining Enchantments
Not every powerful mining enchantment is ideal for every situation.
For example, an area-breaking enchantment may be great for excavation but less desirable when carefully mining around builds or valuable blocks.
Consider keeping separate pickaxes for:
- Ore mining
- Large excavation
- Precision mining
- Resource worlds
Farming Hoe Build
Slayville II also includes several farming-focused custom enchantments.
Harvest
Chance to harvest crops in a 3×3 area.
Replanter
Automatically replants fully grown crops when harvested.
Planter
Plants seeds in a 3×3 area.
Potato Planter
Plants potatoes in a 3×3 area.
Carrot Planter
Plants carrots in a 3×3 area.
A farming Hoe can dramatically reduce the amount of repetitive planting and harvesting required on larger farms.
Fishing Rod Build
Fishing Rods have their own collection of custom enchantments.
Auto Reel
Automatically reels in the fishing rod when you get a bite.
Hook
Provides additional experience from fishing.
Bait
Chance to receive double fishing drops.
Lucky
Can increase Luck while fishing.
Sharpness Hook
Deals damage using the fishing hook.
Poisoned Hook
Can poison hooked entities.
Fire Hook
Sets hooked entities on fire.
Snap
Pulls hooked entities toward you.
For normal fishing, utility enchantments such as:
Auto Reel + Hook + Bait + Lucky
are generally more useful than combat-oriented fishing rod enchantments.
Bow Build
Ranged players have several useful Bow enchantments.
Archer
Increases damage dealt with Bows.
Piercing
Provides additional ranged damage.
Hellfire
Can turn arrows into fireballs.
Sniper
Headshots can deal double damage.
Striker
Can rain arrows over your opponent.
Longbow
Provides increased damage against opponents holding a Bow.
Explosive
Gives arrows a chance to explode.
A damage-focused Bow might start with:
Archer + Piercing + Sniper + Hellfire + Explosive
Crossbow Build
Crossbows have several enchantments specifically designed for them.
Marksman
Increases damage dealt with Crossbows.
Missile
Can turn Crossbow shots into fireballs.
Frenzy
Gives Crossbow shots a chance to explode.
Bowmaster
Can increase damage against opponents wielding Swords.
Snare
Can slow and fatigue enemies hit by projectiles.
Crossbows can be built around either direct damage or status effects.

Deadshot
Trident headshots can deal double damage.
Strife
Increases Trident melee damage.
Twinge
Can cause bleeding with melee Trident attacks.
Chaos
Can inflict Weakness and Wither.
Spark
Can ignite opponents.
You can build a Trident around either ranged combat, melee combat, or a mixture of both.

Armor enchantments can focus on defense, healing, movement, durability, or retaliation.
Useful general armor enchantments include:
Overload
Adds additional hearts.
Angelic
Can heal you when damaged.
Dodge
Chance to completely avoid physical attacks.
Safeguard
Chance to gain Damage Resistance.
Arrow Deflect
Chance to prevent arrow damage.
Obsidianshield
Provides permanent Fire Resistance.
Reflect
Can absorb damage and reflect it back at the attacker.
Hardened
Can restore armor durability when damaged by players.
Patch
Can restore armor durability when damaged by mobs.
Do not feel that every piece of armor needs the same enchantments.
Different armor pieces can be specialized to work together as a complete set.
Helmet Ideas
Useful Helmet enchantments include:
Glowing
Permanent Night Vision.
Aquatic
Allows underwater breathing.
Implants
Can periodically restore hunger.
Smoke Bomb
Can create a distraction when you are near death.
A utility Helmet could combine Glowing, Aquatic, and Implants with additional defensive enchantments.
Boots Build
Boots have some of the most useful mobility enchantments.
Gears
Adds Speed while equipped.
Springs
Adds Jump Boost.
Jelly Legs
Chance to negate fall damage.
Wings
Allows flight while worn.
Water Walker
Allows walking on water.
Lava Walker
Allows walking on lava.
Rocket Escape
Can launch you upward when health becomes low.
Boot slots can become especially valuable because so many movement enchantments are available.
Choose based on how you actually travel.
Elytra Build
Elytra also support custom enchantments.
Momentum
Can provide a Speed boost when using fireworks.
Reinforced
Reduces incoming damage.
Slingshot
Allows you to boost yourself into flight by right-clicking.
Judgement
Can poison an opponent while providing Regeneration.
Elytra builds can focus on travel, survivability, or combat.
Durability Enchantments
For valuable equipment, durability-related enchantments can be worth dedicating a slot to.
Reforged
Helps protect weapon and tool durability.
Hardened
Can recover armor durability when damaged by players.
Patch
Can recover armor durability when damaged by mobs.
Abiding
Makes supported weapons unbreakable.
Durability enchantments may not produce flashy combat effects, but they can help protect expensive equipment over the long term.
Upgrade Books Before Applying Them
Whenever possible, consider whether you want the enchantment at a higher level before placing it on your equipment.
The Alchemist allows identical books of the same level to be combined.
For example:
Level II + Level II → Level III
Level III + Level III → Level IV
Continuing to upgrade the book before applying it can make building high-end equipment much easier.
Use Your Slots Wisely
A normal item starts with:
5 Custom Enchantment Slots
Using Slot Increasers from the Server Shop, that limit can eventually reach:
9 Custom Enchantment Slots
You do not necessarily need nine enchantments on every item.
Slot Increasers are most useful for equipment you plan to keep and improve over a long period of time.
Black Scrolls Are a Last Resort
Black Scrolls can remove custom enchantments from equipment, but the enchantment removed is random.
The more custom enchantments an item contains, the less control you have over what will be removed.
It is much easier to plan your item before applying books than to fix a crowded item later.
Experiment With Your Own Builds
These builds are examples, not required setups.
Custom enchantments are designed to let players create equipment around their own playstyle.
You may prefer:
- Maximum damage
- Mob farming
- Boss fighting
- Mining efficiency
- Farming
- Fishing
- Exploration
- Movement
- Durability
- Survivability
Experiment, trade books with other players, upgrade the enchantments you enjoy, and build gear that works for you.
Tip: Before committing valuable books or Slot Increasers, check the Custom Enchantment List for the enchantment’s compatible equipment, maximum level, and description. Some enchantments may also have compatibility restrictions, so plan your final build before filling every available slot.
